How would you describe your photography style?

I am definitely a Dark and Moody photographer. I have rich, deep colors and blacks in my images. I love capturing movement and prompting my clients in a way that makes their images feel authentic to their unique personalities and true to themselves.

Others have described my work as: alternative, edgy, cinematic, sexy, witchy, fun, candid, authentic and laid back.

We would be an excellent fit if any of that jives with you!

Where are you located? Are you willing to travel?

I'm based in New Prague, Minnesota, but love when I get opportunities to travel as well.

I also travel frequently between places like Mankato, Duluth and the Twin Cities. Through I'm excited to explore new places outside these areas as well!* I do have experience traveling out of state for sessions.

Studios are available for rent and are included in the session fee.

*Travel fees may apply.

“I don’t have tattoos / a motorcycle / an edgy look. Am I still a good fit?”

Absolutely!

You don’t need a specific aesthetic, experience in front of the camera, or any “cool factor” to work with me. You don’t need tattoos, piercings, a bike, a classic car, or bold style choices.

All I ask is an open mind and a little trust in the process.

I’ll guide you through a relaxed, confidence-boosting session that brings out your version of cool — whatever that looks like for you.

If you’re open, curious, and excited to create something meaningful, you’re already a perfect fit.

From booking to session to post session, what can I expect?

1. Before your session

Before we ever step in front of the camera, we’ll connect [email, text, phone, whatever works for you] to map out your session and bring your vision to life.

We’ll talk through:

  • The package that fits your goals

  • Outfit ideas and styling (plus you’ll get my Dare to Be Different wardrobe guide)

  • Location options

  • The vibe, mood, and inspiration you’re going for

  • Props, gear, or anything meaningful you want to include

Once you’re ready to lock things in, I’ll send over your booking link. Your contract + deposit are due within 48 hours to secure your date (I get a lot of inquiries, so snagging your spot quickly is key).

I keep my contracts as clear and transparent as possible—pour a cup of coffee, take a minute to read it through, and reach out if anything needs clarity. I’m always happy to talk through it.

2. Day of your session

Show up on time, in your vibe, and ready to have a damn good time — the rest is on me.

My approach is laid-back, cinematic, and unapologetically creative, so you can expect a session that feels natural, fun, and full of bold, artistic energy.

Here’s what the day looks like:

  • Step-by-step posing and direction so you never wonder what to do

  • Guidance for individuals, couples, families, or full crews

  • Focus on creating moody, cinematic, and emotionally charged images

  • Space to bring your gear, outfits, helmets, jackets, or anything meaningful

  • Real-time previews on the back of the camera so you can see the magic happening

  • A relaxed vibe where your personality, confidence, and connection take center stage

You don’t need model experience — just show up ready to be yourself. I’ll handle the rest.

Bonus tips:

  • Wardrobe: Wear what makes you feel powerful, confident, and authentically you

  • Props: Bring anything that adds to your story: helmets, jackets, florals, tools, sentimental items, whatever holds meaning

  • Energy: Relax, trust me, and have fun—your comfort = cinematic portraits

  • Mindset: You don’t need to pose like a pro. I’ll direct you every step of the way

3. After your session

Within 1–2 weeks, you’ll get an online proofing gallery with watermarked images so you can choose your favorites.

These aren’t fully edited yet—this step lets YOU decide which moments hit hardest.

Need more images than your package includes? Easy. Just let me know.

Once your selections are in, your final edited gallery will be delivered within 3–5 weeks (timeline may adjust depending on my workload, and I’ll always keep you updated).

And then?

Your story keeps unfolding long after the session ends and you have cool images to look back on for years to come.

Do you shoot weddings or elopements?

Yes - I am taking on elopements that are couple-only or small groups. I take on a small number of these per year and vet clients with an in-person meeting prior to officially booking you in.

I love intimate settings and getting a more personalized, detailed look at your special day. And, obviously, I love dark and moody weddings! View my wedding Pinterest board to see what I mean.

Check the investment page to see coverage options.

Contact me to discuss the details of your big day!

NOTE: I do not offer or include wedding planning services. Only photography services and advice are provided. The timelines and tips in my guide are examples and suggestions. I will ask for your finalized details as they pertain to photography via questionnaire a minimum of two weeks prior to your wedding day. I am happy to discuss with your planner if you have one!

What should I wear?

I’m open to anything you’re comfortable wearing! If you plan on shopping for a special outfit for your session and want more direction, let’s discuss it during our consultation.

My style works best with rich, dark colors. Personally, I'm a fan of all black outfits.

I also have a Pinterest board here that I update often.

Keep in mind that during outdoor sessions, we may do a fair amount of walking. If you’d like to wear heels, be sure to bring some slip-on shoes to reduce the chance of getting hurt.

What if I don't know how to pose?

This is absolutely where my expertise comes in!

If you think you'll be awkward, you're not alone. The #1 worry I hear from clients is that they'll be awkward and won't know what to do. That's where I come in! Many feel better after I start posing them. We do a lot of movement and activities so it doesn't feel like you're at a photoshoot.

We can even peek at the back of the camera and see how you like them!

How can I book a session?

Send me an email with all the pertinent details, so we can discuss your needs and match them with the appropriate package. If you need help, my contact page will walk you through and tell you what they are to help get us off on the right foot!

Weddings/Elopements require a phone consult prior to sending out booking information in order to understand your needs, ensure we are a great fit and go over the contract. This step is non-negotiable.

To be officially on my books, you will need to complete the short list of items sent to you within a 48 Hour period or prices and availability may differ. This includes putting down a session retainer.

That's it!

How far in advance should I book?

The sooner the better!

Weekends fill up SUPER fast, so if you know that you want to get a session in during a certain time, it's better to get you on the books and start planning our time together! Plus having the extra time really allows us to get your outfits perfect and get to know each other even more before our shoot!

How do I purchase prints or products?

I don’t offer print services directly, but you’re welcome to order prints from any lab you prefer once your final, high-resolution images are delivered.

Not all printers offer the same level of quality—so I recommend avoiding places like Walmart and Walgreens. For beautiful, professional results, I suggest MPIX.com.

If your images are delivered through Pic-Time, you can easily purchase prints right from your gallery. They’re produced by trusted, high-quality labs and shipped straight to your door for convenience.

You can also check out my blog post for a detailed walkthrough on how to purchase prints through your gallery [here].

Are you LGBTQ+ Friendly?

Everyone is welcome here — full stop.

If you’re a kind human, I’m all in.

I photograph people of every background, identity, body type, relationship dynamic, orientation, and walk of life. Your story matters, your presence is valid, and you deserve to be seen in images that feel powerful, authentic, and unapologetically you.

My sessions are a judgment-free zone where you can show up exactly as you are. I’m here to create a space that’s safe, respectful, and genuinely inclusive — and to celebrate the individuality that makes you, you.

Come as you are. I’ve got you.

When & how will I recieve my photos? Will I get sneak peeks?

Regular sessions: 3-4 weeks following your session.
Weddings/Elopements: 4-5 weeks following your wedding date.

The timing will vary based on the season and my current work load. You will be updated after your session as to how long it will be! If you have a time sensitive need for your images, please let me know upon booking and I will do my best to accommodate.

I'll send you a gallery link and you'll be able to download high-res and web images from your personal gallery. I’ve written a helpful blog post on how to use your gallery here.

They will be available online for one month and then deleted from the site. If your gallery is sent through Pic-time, they send reminders a few days before this happens. You'll be charged an additional fee if you miss this window and they need to be re-uploaded.

-

As for sneak peeks, I do not provide sneaks for regular sessions since a specific number of images are included in your package and quickly sent out to choose your favorites.

Weddings will have next day sneak peeks! That way you have something to share from your big day and the wait is longer since weddings receive an unlimited number of images.

What does a session cost? What forms do you accept?

Pricing is listed under the investment tab. If you can't find what you're looking for, email me!

A non-refundable retainer is required within 48 Hours of inquiry to secure all sessions or pricing and availability may differ. When you want to reserve your time slot, I will send you an invoice. Then follow the steps and enter your payment info. It's that easy!

The remaining balance is due two weeks prior to the session date.

I accept: Cash, Credit, Debit, Venmo.

Electronic payments are accepted via my booking site as an invoice.

***Checks are not accepted.

Can I see one of your full galleries?

Absolutely! Check out my Blog and you'll find sessions of all kinds featured there from couples to elopements to motorcycle sessions.

I will add to this from time to time, so check back or subscribe!

If for some reason you con't find what you're looking for, send me an email.

Happy viewing!

What if the weather is unfavorable?

If we end up with less than favorable conditions, you will be allowed to reschedule without penalty.

I love shooting when it's cloudy, but not rain and lightning! Your safety, ours and our equipment should not endure it.

I am working to have a studio space in the future that would be possible to retreat to, but not at this time. You are also more than welcome to rent out a space that I can come to if you can factor that into your budget.

Again, cancelling and no-shows will be penalized and not refunded for any reason.

What if I need to reschedule?

Life happens and things come up, but I am willing to be as flexible as possible when it comes to rescheduling. If I receive ample notice (refer to your contract) you will be able to reschedule without penalty. A new retainer will otherwise be required.

There is no penalty for rescheduling due to bad weather.

Cancelling a session completely (not wanting to reschedule) means forfeiting your retainer. This also means you will not be able to use the retainer from the cancelled session when inquiring about a session at a later date. It will be treated as a new inquiry.

*A retainer or "booking fee" is used to reserve photography services on a particular date. That retainer, because it is used as consideration to hold your particular date to perform my services, is deemed earned once I stop advertising and stop taking bookings for that date. The booking fees are non-refundable because the performance has already been completed and that portion of your contract is fulfilled.

For what reasons would you refund my deposit/retainer?

Booking a session with me should be done with commitment to my services in mind. The words deposit and retainer are often used interchangeably. Your initial investment or "booking fee*" will always be referred to as a retainer.

The only reason a retainer would be refunded is if I am unable to uphold my end of our agreement. If I become injured, ill, have an emergency, etc. and cannot attend your session then you will be eligible for a refund so that you may find a new photographer.
