Minnesota moody edgy wedding elopement photographer.jpg

Faq

How would you describe your photography style?

I am definitely a Dark and Moody photographer. I have rich, deep colors and blacks in my images. I love capturing movement and prompting my clients in a way that makes their images feel authentic to their unique personalities and true to themselves.

Others have described my work as: alternative, edgy, sexy, witchy, fun, candid, authentic and laid back.

We would be an excellent fit if any of that jives with you!

Where are you located? Are you willing to travel?

I'm based in New Prague, Minnesota, but love when I get opportunities to travel as well.

I travel frequently between places like Mankato, Duluth and the Twin Cities. Through I'm excited to explore new places outside these areas as well!*

Studios are available for rent and are included in the session fee.

*Travel fees may apply.

What should I wear?

I’m open to anything you’re comfortable wearing! If you plan on shopping for a special outfit for your session and want more direction, let’s discuss it during our consultation.

My style works best with rich, dark colors. Personally, I'm a fan of all black outfits.

I also have a Pinterest board here that I update often.

Keep in mind that during outdoor sessions, we may do a fair amount of walking. If you’d like to wear heels, be sure to bring some slip-on shoes to reduce the chance of getting hurt.

What if I don't know how to pose?

This is absolutely where my expertise comes in!

If you think you'll be awkward, you're not alone. The #1 worry I hear from clients is that they'll be awkward and won't know what to do. That's where I come in! Many feel better after I start posing them. We do a lot of movement and activities so it doesn't feel like you're at a photoshoot.

We can even peek at the back of the camera and see how you like them!

From booking to session to post session, what can I expect?

First and foremost, I will consult with you via email, text, or phone to talk about your needs. We will discuss details such as: which package would be the best fit, outfit changes, location(s), ideas and inspiration you'd like to pursue. Any details pertinent to making your session amazing! You can check out available dates and even reserve it ahead of time on my booking page

Once we have all of that figured out, I'll send booking info via an email link that is to be completed within 48 hours. Beyond that point you may need to be re-quoted or risk lose your session date to the next inquirer. I receive a lot of inquiries, so the sooner the better!

When it comes to contracts, I like to be as transparent as possible and am more than willing to discuss the terms with you. I tried to make this document as clear and concise as possible, but it's still a big important document! Please, take a seat with some coffee in your favorite cup and read through this. That way we are all on the same page.

You'll also receive the "Dare to Be Different" what to wear session guide in case you need help with outfit choices.

While shooting, I will make sure to direct you as needed. This could be anything from posing to facial expression to movement. Not everyone that comes to us is a professional model or knows exactly what to do in front of the camera at every moment. I LOVE the challenge and making sure you look your best! And I let you peek at the images on camera, so you can see how we're doing and if I need to make any adjustments.

Once we have had our fun, totally awesome session I will get your online gallery ready to select your final images. This happens within 1-2 weeks of your session. These will not be fully edited yet. You'll choose your digitals by selecting your favorites directly in the gallery. If you'd like more images than your package comes with, let me know! Once you've selected your favorites, I'll have your final, edited gallery ready within 3 weeks.

Note that timelines can change based on my current workload and you will be updated at your session what the timeline looks like.

Now you can select your print products and enjoy your photos for a long long time!

How can I book a session?

Send me an email with all the pertinent details, so we can discuss your needs and match them with the appropriate package.

I also require a phone consult prior to sending out booking information in order to understand your needs, ensure we are a great fit and go over your contract. This step is non-negotiable.

To be officially on my books, you will need to complete the short list of items sent to you within a 48 Hour period or prices and availability may differ. This includes putting down a session deposit.

That's it!

How far in advance should I book?

The sooner the better!

Weekends fill up SUPER fast, so if you know that you want to get a session in during a certain time, it's better to get you on the books and start planning our time together! Plus having the extra time really allows us to get your outfits perfect and get to know each other even more before our shoot!

How do I purchase prints or products?

You can order what you'd like through me! Choose from the list of options and I will order them for you.

Your Pic-Time gallery offers prints from high quality sources, which guarantees you'll get prints you'll love! Not all printers offer the same level of quality. Steer clear of places like Walmart and Walgreens. I have a blog post that goes into detail on how to purchase prints through your gallery here

Your prints are shipped directly to you for your convenience!

Are you LGBTQ+ Friendly?

Absolutely!

I will work with anyone and do not discriminate for any reason. As long as you are a kind human, I will be all in to work with you.

When & how will I recieve my photos? Will I get sneak peeks?

Regular sessions: 3-4 weeks following your session.
Weddings/Elopements: 2 months following your wedding date.

I'll send you a Pic-Time link and you'll be able to download high-res and web images from your personal gallery. I’ve written a helpful blog post on how to use your gallery here.

They will be available online for one month and then deleted from the site. Pic-time sends reminders a few days before this happens. You'll be charged an additional fee if you miss this window and they need to be re-uploaded.

-

As for sneak peeks, I do not provide sneaks for regular sessions since a specific number of images are included in your package and quickly sent out to choose your favorites.

Weddings will have next day sneak peeks! That way you have something to share from your big day and the wait is longer since weddings receive an unlimited number of images.

What does a session cost? What forms do you accept?

Pricing is listed under the investment tab. If you can't find what you're looking for, email me!

A non-refundable retainer is required within 48 Hours of inquiry to secure all sessions or pricing and availability may differ. When you want to reserve your time slot, I will send you an invoice. Then follow the steps and enter your payment info. It's that easy!

The remaining balance is due two weeks prior to the session date.

I accept: Cash, Credit, Debit, PayPal, Venmo, & Checks are not accepted.

Electronic payments are accepted via my booking site as an invoice.

Can I see one of your full galleries?

Absolutely! Click here to explore one of my Pic-Time galleries.

You'll get a sense of what the final result of your session will be and a chance to navigate a gallery before you receive your own.

You will find a variety of session types from couples to elopements to motorcyle sessions. Happy viewing!

Do you shoot weddings or elopements?

YES!

Elopements or small weddings are my favorite. I love intimate settings and getting a more personalized, detailed look at your special day. I love dark and moody weddings! View my wedding Pinterest board to see what I mean.

I am only available for up to 6-hours of coverage at this time.

Contact me to discuss the details of your big day!

NOTE: I do not offer or include wedding planning services. Only photography services and advice are provided. The timelines and tips in my guide are examples and suggestions. I ask for your finalized details as they pertain to photography via questionnaire a minimum of two weeks prior to your wedding day.

What if the weather is unfavorable?

If we end up with less than favorable conditions, you will be allowed to reschedule without penalty.

I love shooting when it's cloudy, but not rain and lightning! Your safety, ours and our equipment should not endure it.

I am working to have a studio space in the future that would be possible to retreat to, but not at this time. You are also more than welcome to rent out a space that I can come to if you can factor that into your budget.

Again, cancelling and no-shows will be penalized and not refunded for any reason.

What if I need to reschedule?

Life happens and things come up, but I am willing to be as flexible as possible when it comes to rescheduling. If I receive ample notice (refer to your contract) you will be able to reschedule without penalty. A new retainer will otherwise be required.

There is no penalty for rescheduling due to bad weather.

Cancelling a session completely (not wanting to reschedule) means forfeiting your retainer. This also means you will not be able to use the retainer from the cancelled session when inquiring about a session at a later date. It will be treated as a new inquiry.

*A retainer or "booking fee" is used to reserve photography services on a particular date. That retainer, because it is used as consideration to hold your particular date to perform my services, is deemed earned once I stop advertising and stop taking bookings for that date. The booking fees are non-refundable because the performance has already been completed and that portion of your contract is fulfilled.

For what reasons would you refund my deposit/retainer?

Booking a session with me should be done with commitment to my services in mind. The words deposit and retainer are often used interchangeably. Your initial investment or "booking fee*" will always be referred to as a retainer.

The only reason a retainer would be refunded is if I am unable to uphold my end of our agreement. If I become injured, ill, have an emergency, etc. and cannot attend your session then you will be eligible for a refund so that you may find a new photographer.

What is your Pandemic Policy?

First and foremost I want you to know that I am here for you and we are all weathering the same storm in our own way. That being said, I am doing my best to be flexible, take precautions, keep everyone safe and do what's best for my business.

Myself and my assistant will be wearing masks (you will not be required) and remain 6-feet away. I will also be sanitizing hands and equipment between sessions.

I will be at your session unless you or myself become ill or have been exposed to individuals displaying symptoms in the last 14 days. Let me know as soon as you can if you’re sick and any cancellation fees will be waived.

In the event that COVID-19 affects your plans, I am standing by my policies and not refunding deposits for any reason (unless I am the one who is sick). However, I am allowing rescheduling without penalty.

I am also being flexible with weddings, so if you decide to have an elopement, different location, etc. I will do my best to work with you. If you cancel completely, you still forfeit your deposit, but won’t be charged the remaining balance.
