There’s something magical about blending softness with darkness, and Jess’s Goth Prom session embodied exactly that. Surrounded by blooming lilacs and dressed in layered gothic-inspired fashion, this portrait session felt like stepping into a dark fairytale. From dramatic makeup to delicate lace details, every element reflected individuality, creativity, and unapologetic self-expression, the kind of storytelling I love creating through moody and alternative portrait photography.
Originally, Jess had requested the Lyndale Rose Garden as we had done a few years back. We had to make a last minute change and ended up at Lakewood Cemetery close by, which also hosts an abundance of gorgeous flowers. We found the lilacs Jess was hoping for at the other location and the results were amazing! Can you tell this was shot at a cemetery? I bet not!
