Worth the Wait | A Long-Distance Couple's First Meeting at MSP Airport | Minnesota Photographer

Some love stories begin with a chance encounter at a coffee shop. Others begin with a swipe, a mutual friend, or a night out.

Theirs was a little different. For Chressie and Bryce, their long-distance love story began somewhere unexpected: Threads. What started as a conversation about music, concerts, and the bands that shaped them quickly became something much bigger. As two former Warped Tour kids with a love for metalcore, pop punk, hiking, longboarding, and all things a little unconventional, they found themselves talking every day.

Then those conversations became FaceTime calls. Every day. Sometimes all day!

For six months, they built a relationship through late-night conversations. They watched shows together, listened to music together, shared life's highs and lows, and fell asleep together every single night on FaceTime. Despite the miles separating them, they created a foundation built on trust, consistency, and connection.

This wasn't just another couples session. This was their first time meeting in person!

Chressie reached out to me to document this moment with a photoshoot at MSP Airport. After six months of daily FaceTime calls and countless hours spent together virtually, Chressie and Bryce were finally about to close the distance.

Then there they were. Finally standing face-to-face...

Watching them together, their connection in the moment felt so effortless. There was no awkwardness or hesitation. They shared their first embrace and first kiss right there! One of the reasons I loved documenting this session so much was how beautifully authentic it felt. Every smile, every laugh, every embrace was real. Everything was shot in an authentic and candid way without prompting.

Chressie describes Bryce as "the Gomez to my Morticia," and honestly, there may not be a more perfect way to describe them. They are a passionate and deeply devoted couple.

As lovers of dark aesthetics, alternative culture, and all things a little edgy, Chressie and Bryce were naturally drawn to my style. They specifically wanted cinematic couples photography that reflected their personalities and captured the significance of this milestone. Their story was the perfect fit for the moody, emotional storytelling that defines my work.

Whether you're planning an airport reunion photoshoot, celebrating a long-distance relationship, or simply looking for long-distance couple photography that tells your story authentically, sessions like this remind me why I love what I do.

When Chressie and Bryce look back on these photographs twenty years from now, I hope they remember more than just the images.

I hope they remember the butterflies.

The anticipation.

The excitement of meeting for the first time.

These are things worth waiting for. As a Minnesota photographer, some of my favorite sessions are the ones that tell a story bigger than a single day. Whether you're planning an airport reunion photoshoot at MSP Airport, celebrating a long-distance relationship, documenting your first time meeting in person, or simply looking for long-distance couple photography that feels authentic to who you are, these moments deserve to be remembered. If you're drawn to cinematic couples photography, edgy couples photography, and images that capture genuine connection rather than perfectly posed moments, I'd love to help tell your story.
